Website Design

When I design a website, I pay a lot of attention to the functional design of the site. The navigation, the site architecture, the way the information is organized and accessed is just as critical if not more important than the aesthetic choices. I prefer to design user-interactions that are intuitive, so that users navigate the site naturally driven by it's content, without having to "think" about how to navigate it. Being a computer geek since the early 1980's, I also have a personal appreciation for pixel perfect pages. I code the HTML myself usually with a combination of CSS stylesheets, javascript functions and actionscripted flash content, and perl scripts if needed.

JerryFrost.com - an artist's website

Jerry Frost is a very talented and prolific artist. His oil paintings include abstract, figurative work and landscapes. He lives in San Francisco.

This website was designed with a dark neutral background to really offset and showcase his work which is so vibrant and colorful.

The site was also built with "smart" Javascript-driven pages which generate the catalog page and the slideshow automatically. That way, when Jerry finishes a new painting, he can add it to his website, and the catalog and slideshow will update themselves automatically to include the new work.

Big Muscle Trainer.com

Dave Kendrick is a personal trainer. This site is a straight forward brochure-ware type of site that gives prospective clients some idea of what it's like to become a client and to train with Dave. I designed the site, built the site, and took most of the photographs.

The Rolfworkshop.com

Manny Aragon is a liscensed practitioner of the Rolf Method of Structural Integration. This website was designed so that prospective clients could get more information on the process, and feel comfortable with scheduling an initial consultation. The neutral color palette was chosen to evoke the clean comfortable environment of a day spa. The white page floats on a beige linen textured background.

Technesis - 1st Generation Public Website

Technesis, Inc. had been developing copytracking software for about four years, so they were ready for their second incarnation on the web. Having designed the first generation website, I had a pretty good understanding about where they had been and the message they wanted to convey about their strategic placement in the marketplace.
